She stood at the corner of the street and waited for the red light when her phone rang.
“Hi, it’s me.” A familiar voice said.
“Hi.” she answered.
“How are you?”
“I’m fine.”
“C’mon, how was it?”
“Well I am still alive.” She watched the street light and tried not to move in haste.
“Did it hurt?” came the next question.
“Of course, it hurt.”
“Did it bleed?”
“Yes, it bled.” She would have huffed if she had not tried to muffle her voice.
“So…?”
“So, what?”
“What did he do?”
“He told me to hold still and… you know… relax and... breathe.”
“Oh, G-d!”
“How are you now?”
“I’m okay.” She tried not to sound weepy.
“Did he say anything?”
“Yes...‘You have good teeth...’ ”
