The paving is crazy,

haphazard,

unplanned.

Rough cut pieces.

Rough cemented joints

with jagged edges.

There’s no sense to be made of it.

Such a contrast with the window’s glass.

So carefully cut and coloured.

So carefully designed.

It’s smooth joints

enhanced

with curving strips of soft lead

breaking up the colours.

But even the shafts

of multi-coloured illumination

can shed no light on it,

can make no sense of it.

There’s no sense to be made.

The paving is crazy,

simply crazy.
