The Sun rises and set in my palms

granted I give each day her alms

for the blessing

and curse

lays in her

arms.


I think of her beauty

and marvel in her

grace.


Upon each day that

sets me before

her face.


Moves my hands

and legs to a

dance of

gratitude


Lifts my tongue

to songs unknown

to gratitude.

Uchechukwu Onyedikam is of the Igbo origin. He's a Nigerian Poet who was born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria. He was introduced to Poetry while he was chasing a career in Engineering at NBC Technical Training College by a friend (and classmate) Jaji Abdulwahab whose friendship inspired the creative art in him. Upon his debut as an indie writer he published Born In Africa on okadabooks.com in 2017, and he looks forward to publishing another collection of poems with Olympia Publisher soon.
