Nobody told me the world was going to end today

I am having my regular black coffee with toast

While secluded in my room

Diligently working on my incomprehensible poems

The ones that future critics and readers will adore

No one bothers to knock at my door

Inform me what everyone else has already seen on the news

I have always observed a lack of courtesy in my fellow man

Perhaps this is why the world is ending.

I very much liked "The World Ending". I feel like that sometimes and the poem is only as long as needed.
